Poker Discipline

Poker is a game that is very addictive and has often been the cause of huge losses that have been incurred by poker addicts. This is because if one keeps winning the game, it becomes a habit, but unfortunately, once you start losing, it also becomes a habit. The problem lies in the fact that the one time winner, when he starts losing, is bewildered, he cannot fathom where he went wrong, therefore he gets back to the game with a vengeance and a badly tarnished self esteem, not to mention the amount of money he brings in and loses.

A bruised ego has always led to anger and impulsive behavior, both of which are the enemies of rational thinking and calculative planning while playing poker. This leads to rash thinking and error ridden decisions which begin to show on the face of the player, much to his disadvantage. The other player will immediately know from the play of emotions on the losing player’s face and will know how to tackle him completely. He can bluff and the losing player will believe his bluff leading him to put all his money in one basket in hopes of winning. However, he will lose leading him to go insane with grief. Therefore it is always better to play poker with discipline and keep that poker face on all times!
